What to expect as a client of Long Island Criminal Defense Lawyer Scott Limmer:
If you become my client, you won’t just get legal representation. I’ll also provide you with two additional services you need and should be looking for: results and expert guidance.
We will sit down and discuss our goals for your case, and explain the path we should pursue to be successful.
Why hire me? After all, you’ve probably noticed there doesn’t seem to be any shortage of lawyers.
As briefly as I can state it, I bring the experience gained from my former work as a prosecutor in Nassau County. I’ve handled cases from the other side, so your defense can benefit from working with police officers and prosecutors in investigating, preparing and presenting cases.
I also understand what you are going through. In representing thousands of clients on charges –ranging from minor violations to misdemeanors or violent felonies — I have come to know many clients and their families, and to see the stress and anguish the family must deal with during the course of the prosecution. The fear your loved one may be incarcerated affects a family in many ways. I understand your fears and will do everything I can to help you deal with them.
I’ll tell it to you straight, and mean what I say. I’ll give you a full overview of the issues you face and make sure you have understanding of all your options. I won’t tell you what you want to hear. Instead, I’ll conscientiously evaluate your case, and give you the most likely scenarios.
I also have an established record of obtaining excellent results for my clients. I have practiced primarily criminal law from the moment I started my practice in 1998, so unlike a lawyer with a more general practice who may every once in a while take a criminal case to keep occupied, I’ve seen and handled these kinds of cases many times before. No matter what you may be charged with, I have handled it.
Finally, I’ll stay in close communication, and keep you supplied with updates and case documents, so you’ll never have to wonder what’s happening in your case.
My Work Ethic
Some lawyers don’t deal very often, or very well, with their clients. With me, clients aren’t left in the dark about what’s going on with their case. I will routinely:
- Maintain frequent contact with each client
- Call or send you an email to inform you of any new development – always
- Make sure you get a copy of all documents
When it will help me defend you, I can bring in one or more qualified professionals. So when necessary, I can put together a team of professionals, such as:
- A certified drug or alcohol issues evaluator
- A mental health professional
- An anger management professional
